WARNING: CONTAINS LEAD, 2010-06-15
Here's the text from the front of the box: "ALL Enchantmints (TM) products are safety tested to meet or exceed U.S. & European standards."
Here's the text from the back of the box: "WARNING: CONTAINS LEAD. MAY BE HARMFUL IF EATEN OR CHEWED. MAY GENERATE DUST CONTAINING LEAD."
This is clearly a music box designed to be enjoyed by children and the construction is certainly adequate for that audience. It has a photo of a little (3 year old?) girl on the front and says on the box "Because children thrive when they are surrounded by Beauty, Truth, & Goodness." So why the lead? I'm sure my five-year-old won't be gnawing on it, but the potential for lead dust is too serious to ignore. This item will be returned.
For young girls, 2010-05-06
I made the mistake of purchasing this for my girlfriend ,I like to call her "Ma joli papillon".I had it sent to her sight unseen,and I watched on webcam as she opened it...First letdown was the outside box which had pictures of smiling 6yr old girls,and when she pulled it out ,we saw that its made of lacquered cardboard.The saving grace was that the size was okay and the artwork on the outside was pretty but the quality at 18$ is not there..huge disappointment..Way too much money for a jewelry box made of cardboard ,9.99$ would be more appropriate
